Our Inspiration

Savitribhai Phule
Savitribhai Phule, a social reformer and an educationalist, she actively advocated for women’s rights, worked against caste oppression and seeded the activism for the education of women. A poet, an author, she is also regarded as the first female teacher of India.
Savitribhai, along with her husband Jyotirao Phule, founded India’s first female-only school and educated and nurtured girl children who were denied education during their times. They erected care homes for women who were survivors of cultural and physical violence and educated them.

Dr. Muthulakshmi
Dr. Muthulakshmi was a forerunning social reformer of her period. Being a medical practitioner, she also actively aided in the abolition of the regressive and women-exploiting Devadasi system and advocated against caste oppression. She equally participated in the political realm and became the first woman legislator in British India.
She held many positions and posts that were seen as not-a-woman’s job during her time. An author, a legislator, a doctor, a social reformer, Dr. Muthulakshmi was all a girl child can take inspiration from.

Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu (Mother Teresa)
It is not enough to say to my God I love you, but my God, I love you here. I can enjoy this, but I give up. I could eat that sugar, but I give that sugar. If I stay here the whole day and the whole night, you would be surprised of the beautiful things that people do, to share the joy of giving.
“Let us always meet each other with a smile,
for the smile is the beginning of love.”
